Walmart Back to School Supplies

I have teamed up with Walmart to bring you the scoop on their amazing Back to School supply selection! Bennett isn't starting Kindergarten until 2020, but we still get the classic "School Supply" list every year asking us for all of our favorite classroom must-haves.

I am in complete denial that my baby is old enough to have a school supply list, be excited about back to school shopping, and pick out his own supplies! We even ran into some of his classmates while stocking up on all things superheroes and dinosaurs.

backpack was not a requirement for his class, but that didn't stop him from trying on EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Not only was shopping in the store extremely simple, but I love the fact that I can order online for in-store pick-up, or get free next-day delivery on orders over $35! This was so helpful for some specialty items that Bennett's teacher asked for, like this watercolor pallet.

If you're starting to shop for back to school supplies, or just need to grab some extra things, head to Walmart to check out their in-store selection, or go online to see the millions of items they have available!

This post is sponsored by Walmart. All opinions are my own.

LIFESTYLE // If You're A Train Wreck and You Know It, Raise Your Hand 🙋🏼

This post is going to be a little more “sharing my truth” than sharing my outfit, but I feel like this is something that needs to be addressed. I’m just going to say it... Instagram is a lie. No ones arm is actually that skinny, no ones house is actually that clean, and no ones child is actually that well behaved (can I get an amen from all of the moms of a-hole toddlers up in here?). Social media has caused our society to try to live up to impossible standards and I am honestly too tired, lazy, hungry, and apathetic to try to keep up all the time. The mirrors in my house probably haven’t been windexed since my mom last came to visit, I frequently lose track of how many days it’s been since I’ve washed my hair, I’ve gained about 15 pounds since I’ve been married, and my child eats chicken nuggets for dinner 3+ nights a week (mainly because he refuses to eat anything other than those and Cosmic brownies. He get it from his momma).

Guess what? All of this is totally okay. I think becoming content with who are you and not trying to please everyone all the time has come with age for me. The thought of going out in public (and this does not mean goin out with my homegirls on a weekend, this is in reference to say... the grocery store) without full face makeup, heels, and 17 bracelets stacked up my arm would have been unimaginable for me 4 or 5 years ago. HEELS AT THE GROCERY STORE. I want to punch my 24 year old self in the face right now. As for 29 year old me, you’re lucky to catch me anywhere but the grocery store, and I will be rocking the workout clothes I just wore to a spin class, lookin like a swamp creature and smelling like a homeless person, and I am not scared of what someone I know will think if I run into them. Sure, I have my insecurities, but self-love is becoming more and more important to me as I realize the world doesn’t revolve around how many followers I have or what size clothes I wear (just for full disclosure I’m a size 6 about one day a year, and the rest of the time big mama is rocking a size 8. Shoutout to my thighs for never letting me down in making it hard to find jeans). I’ll be the first to admit that any Instagram post you see of me showing an outfit has been manipulated in every angle possible, and I probably had to take 76 of them to find one I didn’t hate.

For 2018, I am making it my goal to have more self praise than self criticism. To everyone reading this- you are kicking butt at life right now, whether you think you are or not. I think sometimes we just need to hear that. You are beautiful, you’re a great mom (child and/or animal ;)), a bomb a$$  friend, and people in your life are thankful for you whether they tell you frequently or not. Don’t use Instagram as a tool to measure your life. Use your values, what’s important to you, and the accountability of those in your circle (not those of internet trolls who like to mom shame and cyber bully). As Ellen likes to say, be kind to one another. Lift each other up, and most importantly, lift yourself up.

Shake your $ maker // Cash Back App for Shopping!

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably hate me by now (some probably for other reasons than what I’m about to say, ha! If that’s the case, my bad), but I can’t help but shout from the rooftops about this new app I’m obsessed with. I will start off by saying that NO, this is not a sponsored post. I am posting this on my own accord, and sharing my own personal feelings about this app. I also want to thank Heather Lindsey (@HeatherLLove) for introducing me to this app. Follow her, she’s the bomb.com.

So this app called Dosh is a total game changer. It pays you CASH BACK for doing everyday, normal shopping that you already do! After posting about this a zillion times on Instagram and Twitter, I have gotten a lot of the same questions, and wanted to make the answers available to everyone (and also my DMs were getting a little out of control :)). Keep reading to find out how to be ballinnnnn (or just semi-baller status because it all goes into your savings and you’re on a super strict budget because you’re married to a finance guy like I am).

1. Is this app legit?

This is by far the most asked question. 100% YEEEESSSSS. I would never recommend something to so many people that was a security risk. They are completely safe and your information is absolutely protected.

2. How does this app work?

Since I have not studied the terms and conditions, I  can only go off of my own personal experience. If you’re one of those people who likes to read the fine print and you find something even cooler about this app that I don’t include, let me know and I’ll edit to share with everyone!

So, basically, this is how it goes down. You download the app, link your debit or credit card and shop as you normally would (skip to question #4 to learn about how to shop).

3. Do you get actual cash back, or just money to use within the app?

It is actual cash back that can be deposited into your PayPal account or checking account. I’m honestly not sure if you can use your balance to shop within the app (told you I didn’t read about all the features... 😬), but I would much rather deposit into my accounts.

4. How do I shop and get cash back?

When you add your card to the app, you are adding it to not only pay for things, but it’s also giving the app permission to see the transactions made on your card. If you buy something at one of the places they offer cash back on, you get $! To get cash back for online purchases, you have to purchase directly through the link provided by the app under the “Online” tab. For hotels, you have to book directly through the “Travel” on the app.

5. How long does it take for the cash back to show up in your app?

While the terms say it can take up to 30 days for the money to show up in the app, I’ve seen it normally take 48-72 hours. For travel, the money is deposited anywhere from 24-72 hours after travel is completed.

6. Does the app take out a fee like PayPal?

Nope! What you see in your “wallet” is exactly what’s available to you!

I think this has answered the majority of the reoccurring questions I have been getting about this app. This is definitely the definition of “easy money”. So what are you waiting for? Download the app using this link, add your card, and get $5 for free! Happy shopping y’all!

Crazy Little Thing Called Life // Confessions of A "Blogger"

I don't even know where to start.

Well, it's officially been almost 2 years since I posted on this website. I guess my excuse is... life? Laziness? Social Media? Basically, I want to apologize for being a slacker. I don't really have a great excuse, other than Instagram posts take a lot less time (can I get an amen from every blogger in the world?).

I'm sitting here trying to figure out what I want to say, and this post is extremely impromptu, so I apologize in advance for the rambling that is about to occur.

Here it goes...

I have never really considered myself a "blogger". Yeah, I had some social media followers, and a website that I randomly posted on every once in a while, but I kind of feel like me calling myself a blogger would be an insult to those who actually are bloggers (we should play a game where you have to drink every time I say the word blogger in this post... cue the Power Hour music and scrunchy to hold your hair back while you toss your cookies), because they spend hours and hours getting pictures taken, editing photos, researching, composing posts, etc. I literally snap a mirror selfie once every 4 months and slap that thing on Instagram. So I guess I am starting out by apologizing to those who have dedicated their life to this, because I can never equate my work with theirs.

I am going to start blogging again, but this time, it is going to be different. My life is in a completely different place than it was 4 years ago (almost 5- HOLY CRAP. I. AM. OLD.) The single, childless, recent college grad whose biggest concern was trying to defer my student loans as long as possible so I could buy new clothes I didn't need (shout out to the real MVPs who stuck with me through all of that annoying mess), is a completely different person. This time around there will be a mix of me rambling about random things, sharing my favorite things with you, being completely honest about as much as I possibly can, and hopefully encouraging a few of you a long the way :)

Suggestions from y'all about what to post about are gladly welcome, as well as questions you may have for me. I love hearing from you, whether it be email, Instagram, or any other form you choose! I will try to be as brutally honest as possible, so be forewarned if bluntness isn't your attribute of choice in a blogger.

One last thing I would like to add... If you post on anonymous websites like GOMI, or make nasty comments towards anyone on any form of social media as an anonymous presence, you are pathetic. The fact that you feel the need to talk so much trash about someone who you may or may not personally know, shows what a troll you are. To those of you who read that trash... My only hope is that anything you read, posted about anyone, on those types of websites is taken as fiction. Isn't it weird that complete strangers who won't identify themselves know so much more about your own life than you do? PSA- I googled myself 1 time about 2 years ago and haven't since. So when someone decides to post about the comments I just made, just know I won't see it. I'll be too busy living my life while you sit in your parent's basement playing Zelda for the rest of your miserable adulthood :)

See, I told y'all... blunt.
